The blue Vault badge represents the card as already stored in the psa Vault. For eligible vaulted cards, eBay requires a single graded card, a sale price of at least $250, and passage through its trading-card authenticity inspection. A matching database record is useful, but it is not proof that every slab displaying that number is genuine. This distinction matters when two slabs share the same grade but differ visually.
A buyer may prefer one copy's centering or eye appeal, yet vault status alone does not establish which copy looks better. The image therefore remains important, even when the holder is authentic. If glare, resolution, or framing prevents you from judging a feature that affects your decision, treat that feature as unknown rather than assuming the grade settles it.
What should you verify before paying?
Review the complete transaction while you still have the option to walk away. eBay provides vault users with a high-resolution digital image and a preset record containing the title, description, and item specifics, but its Vault page says directing an item to the Vault waives further inspection rights.
