Only complete LEGEND pairs and pack-fresh Prime cards from Unleashed are worth grading, where grading means professional scoring sealed in a slab. Matched Raikou, Entei and Suicune halves lead, followed by select well-centered Primes such as Tyranitar and Steelix. Unleashed is the second HeartGold and SoulSilver expansion for collectors tracking set value.
PocketMonsters.net reports it holds 95-96 cards, released May 12, 2010, with six Pokemon Prime cards and paired Entei, Raikou and Suicune LEGEND cards in its PocketMonsters.net set report. LEGEND cards play as two halves that combine into one image. Prime cards are ultra-rare pulls with special foil treatment.

Why do LEGEND halves lead Unleashed value?
Unleashed LEGEND chases are split across two halves that must match. TheGamer ranks Raikou and Suicune LEGEND Top around $107 raw and Suicune and Entei LEGEND Top around $98, making complete matched pairs the top grading targets in its TheGamer's Unleashed value ranking. A single half still sells, but a matched pair earns stronger demand.
CBR's tracker likewise places Suicune and Entei LEGEND Top near $98.55 market and the full set near $686. That spread shows LEGEND halves drive most set value. Collectors pay for finished pairs, not loose halves.
Which Primes make the cut?
The six Unleashed Primes are Kingdra, Crobat, Steelix, Tyranitar, Ursaring and Lanturn. TheGamer cites Steelix Prime near $16.50 raw, so only pack-fresh, well-centered Primes justify grading costs. Tyranitar and Steelix draw the most attention among the six.
Pack-fresh means clean corners, edges and surfaces straight from the pack. Centering must look even front and back. Lower-value Primes need a clear PSA 10 premium to overcome fees.
When does grading pay?
A card is generally worth grading only when PSA 10 sale price minus raw cost, grading fee, shipping and selling fees exceeds raw value. Zeropop uses PSA 10 trading at 2x-plus raw and a PSA 10 hit rate above 15% as its profit screen in its Zeropop's grading-profit guide. Run that math before you submit.
Pkmhobby notes PSA remains the resale benchmark for Pokemon because its labels have the deepest buyer pool and population data. Unleashed LEGENDs and Primes intended for sale benefit most from PSA slabs. Personal-collection cards follow different logic.
What should you skip?
Non-Sport.Cards advises against grading Unleashed commons, played or damaged copies, raw cards under about $50, or high-population PSA 10 modern cards. Fees, shipping and wait time erase profit on those submissions. Raw value sets a hard floor.
Incomplete LEGEND halves with edge wear or off-centering also fail the test. Keep them raw or sell as binder copies. Save grading for pairs that can earn a premium.
How do you pre-screen before submitting?
PreGradeCards advises checking Unleashed LEGEND halves and Primes for 55/45 or better centering plus clean corners, edges and surfaces. Submit only copies worth over $75 raw or with a credible PSA 10 premium.
Use this quick check: Reject any copy that misses more than one check. Submit only the strongest LEGEND halves and Primes.
- centering 55/45 or better front, no tilt
- sharp corners with no whitening
- clean edges and scratch-free surface
- raw value over $75 or proven PSA 10 jump
