Which Crown Zenith Pokemon Cards Are Worth Grading?

The Crown Zenith cards most worth grading are Giratina VSTAR GG69, Mewtwo VSTAR GG44 and Arceus VSTAR GG70. These Galarian Gallery alternate arts are alternate-art reprints exclusive to the subset, and they hold enough raw value to survive grading fees.

Grading means submitting a card to PSA for a 1-10 condition score, sealed in a labeled slab. Crown Zenith released in early 2023 as the final Sword and Shield special set, with a 159-card main set plus 70 Galarian Gallery cards. Focus on pristine Galarian Gallery VSTARs, not main-set holos.

Table of Contents

Most Crown Zenith value sits in a small group of alternate arts. The top 10 Galarian Gallery cards hold 60 percent of subset value, led by Giratina VSTAR GG69 at $286.38, Mewtwo VSTAR GG44 at $240.05 and Arceus VSTAR GG70 at $180.27, according to Card Codex in its Galarian Gallery price guide. That concentration tells you where to look first.

Main-set cards rarely clear the grading cutoff. Pokemon Price Tracker reports that grading is generally profitable only for cards worth $50 or more raw, because modern PSA 10s average a 2-5x premium while PSA 9s bring only 30-50 percent of PSA 10 value. Submit only clean, sharp-cornered copies with centered borders.

Which three cards lead the list?

Giratina VSTAR GG69 is the clearest candidate. Recent market data shows about $194.99 raw and up to $486.50 in PSA 10, according to AxeTech in its Crown Zenith card list. The gap can absorb grading and shipping costs when the card earns gem mint.

Mewtwo VSTAR GG44 and Arceus VSTAR GG70 are next. Both sit well above the $50 raw cutoff, with strong collector demand for their alternate art. Other Galarian Gallery VSTARs and popular full arts can qualify if raw price and centering are excellent.

How hard is a PSA 10 to get?

Harder than many collectors expect. Across 580,830 graded Galarian Gallery copies, only 52.3 percent earned PSA 10, according to Card Codex in its Galarian Gallery population data. Nearly half of submissions miss gem mint and face sharply lower returns.

Check edges, corners, surface and centering under bright light before submitting. A visible whitening spot, print line or soft corner often means a PSA 9. For expensive cards, pre-screening saves more money than bulk submission discounts.

What limits should collectors watch?

Population pressure matters. Giratina VSTAR GG69 shows 44,706 total PSA copies, with 39,992 above PSA 8, so lower grades compete heavily and only PSA 10 captures the premium. CardsHQ lists PSA 8 at $275 versus PSA 10 at $550.

Main-set Charizard VSTAR 19/159 shows the trap: 6,656 graded with 3,862 PSA 10s, raw $11.55 versus PSA 10 $113.63, where PSA 9 loses money after fees. Crown Zenith also has materially lower PSA populations than Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery because it shipped as a special set with no booster boxes. Prioritize low-population Galarian Gallery VSTARs in truly pristine condition.
