Mew ex Futuristic Rare costs more than Mewtwo ex Futuristic Rare in Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration. Futuristic Rare (FUR) is a new rarity that debuted with only those two cards, Mewtwo ex #157/128 and Mew ex #158/128.
The set launched worldwide on Sept. 16, 2026 as the 30th-anniversary special set, reports NintendoSoup. Both FUR cards use neon-photographic art and sit above the set's reprints and Pikachu rares in value.

What is a Futuristic Rare?
FUR is a set-specific rarity, not a standard ultra rare or illustration rare. TCGWatchTower lists only two Futuristic Rares in 30th Celebration, Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, in its neon-photographic set breakdown. Both cards are illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN.
The style pairs portrait photography with bright neon effects, so the pair looks matched but distinct. collectors chase them as a two-card set. That pairing matters because Mew leads on price, while Mewtwo offers the same rarity treatment at a lower entry point.
How did launch prices compare?
Mew ex FUR #158/128 was the set's most expensive card at launch. Insider Gaming, citing TCGplayer market data, ranked Mew near $1,800 and Mewtwo second near $875 in its 30th Celebration value ranking.
Mew then fell by more than half, but stayed ahead of the field. Mewtwo slipped to about $706 shortly after launch. The gap was consistent:.
- Mew ex FUR #158/128: top card, roughly double Mewtwo at launch
- Mewtwo ex FUR #157/128: second-place card, still far above other hits
- Rest of set: significantly behind both FUR cards
What are they worth now?
Later market tracking shows steep declines for both cards. PriceCharting live data places ungraded Mew ex near $99.05 and Mewtwo ex near $74.19, according to its 30th Celebration live prices. Graded copies hold more value, but the order stays the same.
PSA 10 Mew ex sits near $527.90, while PSA 10 Mewtwo ex sits near $406.56. That leaves Mew about $25 higher loose and about $121 higher in PSA 10. Buyers paying a premium for Mew are paying for the lead card, not a different rarity tier.
How hard is each one to pull?
PokeBeach analysis of a TCGplayer bulk opening puts each Futuristic Rare at about 1 in 120 booster packs, as reported in its 30th Celebration pull-rate analysis. A specific card is therefore roughly twice as rare.
Pulling Mew ex means beating both the FUR odds and the split between the two cards. Sampling has limits because 30th Celebration packs come only in special products, notes PokeBeach. Bulk samples are hard to obtain, so treat the 1-in-120 figure as an estimate rather than a fixed rate.
What is the cheaper way to chase them?
The $29.99 Mew or Mewtwo Figure Collection arrives Nov. 6, 2026, reports Tech Times. Each box includes a foil promo, oversize card, figure, and five boosters.
That route does not guarantee a FUR. It does give sealed packs plus display items for far less than a single FUR now costs. For most buyers, the practical choice is Mewtwo for a lower buy-in, Mew for the top-card position, or the Figure Collection for low-cost packs without chasing singles.
